Introduction
MultiLinkQR ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our free QR code generator service. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access or use our service.
MultiLinkQR is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not store your links, settings, or personal information in any central database. Your data remains in your control.
Information We Do NOT Collect
To make it clear what we don't do, here's what MultiLinkQR does NOT collect:
- No Account Information: We don't require registration, so we don't collect usernames, email addresses, passwords, or any account-related information.
- No QR Code Content: The links, labels, titles, and settings you enter are encoded directly into the generated URL and processed entirely in your browser. We never receive, store, or have access to this information.
- No Personal Data: We don't collect names, addresses, phone numbers, or any other personally identifiable information unless you explicitly provide it to us through our contact form.
- No Payment Information: MultiLinkQR is completely free, so we never collect credit card numbers, billing addresses, or payment details.
- No Tracking of QR Code Scans: We don't track when, where, or how many times your QR codes are scanned. This information is not available to us.
Information We May Collect
While we minimize data collection, we may collect the following types of information to improve our service:
1. Standard Web Analytics
We use Google Analytics and similar analytics tools to understand how visitors use our website. This may include:
- Total page views and unique visitor counts
- Device types (desktop, mobile, tablet)
- Browser types and versions
- Country-level geographic data (not specific locations)
- Referral sources (how visitors found our site)
- Time spent on pages
This information is collected in an aggregated, anonymized format and cannot be used to identify individual users. We use this data solely to improve the website's functionality, user experience, and performance.
2. Server Logs
Like most websites, our web server automatically logs certain information when you visit our site, including:
- IP addresses (which may be anonymized)
- Date and time of access
- Pages visited
- HTTP status codes
- Browser user agent strings
These logs are used for security purposes, troubleshooting technical issues, and understanding website traffic patterns. Logs are typically retained for a limited period and then deleted.
3. Contact Information
If you contact us through our contact page or email, we may collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, and message content. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not used for marketing purposes unless you explicitly consent.
How Your QR Code Data Works
When you create a QR code using MultiLinkQR, all your information (links, labels, colors, settings, etc.) is processed entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. Here's how it works:
- Client-Side Processing: All data you enter is processed locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers during the QR code generation process.
- URL Encoding: Your settings and links are encoded into a base64 string and embedded directly into the generated URL (for multi-link QR codes).
- No Server Storage: We don't store your QR code data on our servers. The only way someone can access your links is if they have the QR code itself or the generated URL.
- Direct Access: Anyone who scans your QR code or has the URL can decode and access the information you encoded. This is by design, as it allows your QR codes to work without requiring our servers to be online.
Important: Because your data is encoded in the URL, anyone with access to the QR code or URL can see the links you've included. Only include links you're comfortable sharing publicly. Never encode sensitive information like passwords, personal data, or private content in your QR codes.
Third-Party Services
MultiLinkQR uses the following third-party services that may collect information:
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand website usage. Google's privacy policy applies to this service. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using browser extensions or Google's opt-out tools.
- Advertising Partners: We may display ads through approved ad partners. These partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. You can manage ad preferences through your browser settings or the partner's opt-out tools.
- Content Delivery Networks (CDNs): We use CDNs to deliver Bootstrap, JavaScript libraries, and other resources. These services may collect standard web analytics data.
When you click on links in your QR codes (such as YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, or any external website), those third-party services have their own privacy policies that govern how they collect and use your information. We recommend reviewing the privacy practices of any services you link to in your QR codes.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We may use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to:
- Remember your theme preferences (dark mode/light mode)
- Save your QR code generator form state locally in your browser
- Analyze website traffic and usage patterns
- Serve and measure advertising on the site
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. However, disabling cookies may affect some functionality of our website, such as saving your preferences.
We use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain on your device until deleted or expired). The data stored in cookies is used solely for the purposes described above.
Data Security
While we don't store your QR code data on our servers, we take reasonable measures to protect the website and any information we do collect:
- We use HTTPS encryption to protect data in transit
- We follow industry-standard security practices
- We regularly update our software and dependencies
- We limit access to server logs and analytics data to authorized personnel only
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
MultiLinkQR is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will delete such information from our records.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: You can request information about what data we have collected about you.
- Deletion: You can request deletion of any personal information we may have.
- Opt-Out: You can opt out of analytics tracking using browser extensions or settings, and manage ad preferences through Google's ad settings.
- Data Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@multilinkqr.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
